Scott Nihill

Scott Nihill (Producer) is a Producer at Heroic Film Company and was formerly the Director of Development/Producer/Partner at Bitcasters (http://bitcasters.com), a leading Canadian media production facility and think tank, where he is producing Canada’s most innovative online/mobile games and communities; Historicanada (http://historicanada.com), Hollywood Tycoon (http://hollwoodtycoon.com) and Stormhawks.com. He has also worked for dozens of artist run centers and cultural institutions (Vtape, AGYU, OCAD, York University, UofT, ImagiNative, Charles Street Video, Pleasure Dome… +). Scott is also a founding member of Project Builder (http://projectbuilder.org) a community of artists.

Scott’s commitment to the improvement of resources available to media makers and the nurturing of fresh young talent is demonstrated through his activities under the banner Project Builder.  He has worked with over 100 artists in the creation of experimental, engaging and award winning film projects, art installations, web projects/communities and exhibitions. His resource building abilities have been demonstrated through numerous organizations such as Bridgin and Vtape Research Canada’s first free, arts based management training program (at Vtape).

Scott has shared his expertise in developing high-impact media using limited resources with a broad range of organizations and individuals including: The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, Design Exchange, Bell ExpressVu, Recording Arts Canada, Art Gallery of York University, CBC, Gallery 44, Ontario Association of Art Galleries, Gallery TPW, University for Peace, Centennial College, Imaginative, CAMH.
